Mutants and Masterminds - The Sinestro Corps

The Sinestro Corps Yellow Power Ring

For the Mutants and Masterminds 2nd Edition Role-Playing Game

This device bestowed upon individuals worthy of initiations of the Sinestro Corps are primarily used to spread death, terror, and tyranny in the name of Parallax, the Embodiment of Fear, the anti-monstrosity known as the Anti-Monitor. Unlike their green opposites, Yellow Power rings function through the ring-bearer's "force of personality' or his/her charisma attribute instead of willpower (or the wisdom attribute). When wielding a yellow poser ring, the character's charisma modifier is stacked with the ring's particular power. The enhance (trait - charisma) power, drug, or device can boost the power for a temporary or even permanent duration. Effects that interfere will the discipline or concentration of the ring-wielder are the bast offenses and defenses against it. The yellow power rings also have a limited sentient intelligence to them and do not kindly take unauthorized individual donning them or using their abilities. They consume the unauthorized in a blast of yellow energy and depart to find their sector's next worthy ring-bearer. In order to utilize a yellow power ring, one must have the ability to instill great fear.

The Sinestro Corps, Post Sinestro Corps War

Daalah Quylle
Species: Coluan, Female
Notes: A scientist of astonishing intelligence and gifted sophistication, Quiixl sent much of her life as a research and development scientist in the nameless armies of the Citadel, the Spider Guild, the Khunds, and many other extraterrestrial world-conquering species. Her reputation and name alone is enough to install fear and terror in many star systems for her research into biological and eco-chemical warfare speaks of her heartless mind. She learned her reputation as a military strategist when it came to slave rigging and seeding the upper atmospheres of several star systems across a network of seemingly insignificant stargates. She used the stargates to transfer the large quantities of inert atmospheric (usually) gas from giant gas planets to other habitable life thriving worlds. Her blunt genius earned her rank and reputation as a mass murderer and cold genocidal despot. She has succeeded in cloning herself in mass numbers and selling her "daughters" as strategic bio-weapons of mass destruction. Daalah Quiixl is capable of assembling large-scale technological sunbreaking weapons as well.

Jooh'Ana'Jiin
Species: Durlan
Notes: The only known shape-changer in the Sinestro Corps. Consider a sociopath amongst her own people, they banished Jooh"Ana'Jiin from their homeword for their own safety and in turn unleashed a mass murderer upon the galaxy. Although capable of great acts of affection and generosity, Jooh'Ana'Jiin is a cannibal in every since of the word and would not hesitate to befriend a sentient life-form then turn upon it only to consume it while it is breathing and vigorously living. Although Durlans are capable of morphing into either biological sexes, Jooh'Ana'Jiin behaves predominately female in gender and sexual appearance.

Rhule
Species: Tamaran
Notes: Born as an unclaimed bastard son to warring noble families, this Tamaran was a renegade from the onset of his birth. When his mother was finished weaning him, she sold him into slavery to the Citadel just be to be rid of the stigma and shame she bought on the family name. The Weapon-Masters of the Citadel sired the young into a fierce warrior until his 20th birthday. Always rebellious and fearless in the face of adversity, Rhule would have been a suitable member of the Green Lantern Corps, or even the unbound greed of the Orange Lanterns, except circumstance (being confined to the Vega System and the Guardian's Treaty with Larfleeze) had something else in store of the out-of-wedlock prince. He rebelled and boarded a smuggler's vessel undetected. From there, he entered the criminal life as a pirate, extortionist, mercenary, assassin, mastering all the skills he needed to thrive in the criminal underworld. Rhule is a butcher and a tyrant in the very sense of the word. He knows how to run a crew, a labor pool, and a criminal enterprise and he knows how to run them to their deaths. Her reputation as a mercenary as well as his presence alone is enough to instill fear in the opposition. He is the evil that thrives in the sunlight. He approached Daalah Quiixl on several occasions authorizing the use of genetic engineering, especially an genetic material involving Kryptonian solar capabilities and tactile telekinesis.

Massdriver
Species: Thanagar
Notes: He is the radioactive corpse of a forgotten conflict in that world's Cold War era. Somehow clinging to his former existence through psionic abilities he barely knew he possessed. Remnant remained marooned in a frozen nuclear submersible for decades until infiltrators working for the Sinestro Corps discovered his psychic agony and his ability to instill great fear. To ensure he does not contaminate other members of the Corps, Remnant wears a containment suit at all times, a suit reminiscent of the nation's old communist regime. Remnant is a sadistic artist. The devastation of nuclear contamination brings a smile to face, if he had a smile or a face. Spreading radioactivity and it toxic particles from world to world is one the few vestiges of his former life than keeps him sentient, and some say sane.

Shryll
Species: Unknown parasitic organism, reptilian or Saurian in taxonomic classification
Notes: A dragon-like organism no longer than 1 meter in length and .5 meters in height. Shryll is an intelligent parasitic species capable of fluent speech and sadistic cruelty. Her species possesses a unique method of reproduction. They implant their eggs inside a warm-blooded host and allow the embryo to maturate into an adult organism. The embryo consumes its host over time and radically alters its chemistry by manipulating the host's sleeping cycle and other aspects of its physiology. Once in state similar to hibernation, the host undergoes a metamorphosis until its is completely cocooned in a soft shell like substance. Within weeks, the dragon-like species emerges with the knowledge and skills of its host. In addition to its yellow power ring, Shryll is capable of a high pitched vocal attack that temporally disrupts the equilibrium centers of most bi-pedal and quadro-pedal organisms as well as a lethal poisonous bite and talons. All Sinestro Corps members keep their shield up around Shryll at all times as she does not discriminate who should be her offspring's next host.

The Xenomorph from Sector 6761
Species: Unknown bio-morphic xeno-morph, possibly trans-galactic in origin
Notes: Highly intelligent and lethal, the Thing from Sector 6761 is a renegade bio-warfare weapon billion of years old. Unleashed upon our galaxy from a terrible and long forgotten war, it has consumed and intimidated life-forms now buried under kilometers or rock and long since extinct. Unknown and enigmatic, the Xenomorph cannibalizes any bio-organisms and then gestates itself into a exact copy and use it to inflict distrust, strife, and assassination through the known galaxy. The Xenomorph is capable of re-absorbing its duplicates through consumption, only to regurgitate another copy at a latter date. It is also capable of a hive mind with its copies, yet maintain a single persoanlity amongst all of them.
